Lagoda, Alexander

Alexander Lagoda is a graduate of James Madison University where he studied Social Studies Education. His family came to the United States from Ukraine in 1990. This is Alex’s second year teaching Social Studies in Christian Schools. Alex has been involved in Christian summer camps for children and teenagers in Russia, Ukraine, and the United States. Alex brings a love, appreciation, and enthusiasm for history, geography and other social studies to his classroom. He enjoys working with English Language Learners because he too learned English as a child. Alex also enjoys working with special needs students. Alex wants to be a leader and mentor to his students and believes that it is important to be open and approachable, yet firm when necessary. Alex is an avid guitarist and has experience as a band leader and guitar teacher. Both he and his wife Aliona enjoy fishing, biking, hiking and other outdoor activities. He also enjoys playing basketball.
