Nysi Kilgore graduated FCS in May of 2015 and set off to Lee University with the highest of expectations. She ventured out of the FCS bubble top of her class and had already completed two years of undergraduate coursework by the time she walked across the FCS graduation stage. While she felt more than prepared for the coursework, Nysi said she was surprised by how homesick and anxious she felt as a college freshman. She said making friends was more challenging than in high school and she was disappointed overall with how challenging her transition to college was.

But Nysi isn’t one to back down from a challenge. She began praying earnestly, asking God why was it so hard. She knew there was purpose in the challenge and she said she felt a call to create a resource for everyone going through transition.

In her book “God Is…: Lessons I Learned About God in College” published February 2018, Nysi has created a beautiful tool for others to feel less alone. She wants to make sure those who feel like the “odd ball out” know how to turn to their Heavenly Father.

As the 2017-2018 school year comes to a close, we expect many of you and your students will be facing a transition. No matter what your age or transition, we encourage you to pick up a book or reach out to us. You are not alone. Nysi encourages, “Frustration is only temporary and God always reveals himself.”

You are in our prayers now and always.
