Yuri Markov

Bible/ASP Bible

Mr. Markov teaches Bible and also teaches in our Academic Skills Program Bible program. He has a Masters of Divinity degree in Theology from Church of God Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts in Technology from Kramatorsk College of Technology in Ukraine. He has been a pastor for over 15 years; he and his wife have three children who attend FCS.

Jessica Tof

Fine Arts/LS Aide/Office

Jess graduated from UNG with her Elementary AA degree in Education. She also graduated from FCS in 2014.  She worked as a para-pro one year for K5, when she was in college.  She also played on the volleyball team 4 years in high school and led the team as captain her last two years.  She faithfully serves at New Life Atl.

She works in the Fine Arts Administration, front desk and as a teachers aide.  She is also our varsity volleyball coach for 2019-’20.

Julia Osolnik

Russian K4-2/Fine Arts/Tutor

Mrs. Osolnik teaches K4-2nd grade Russian at FCS.  She has her MA degree and has experience in language and tutoring.  She also works in the fine arts department with administration.

 

 

Connie Bowman

Spanish K4-8th/Reading/ASP Asst. Director

Mrs. Bowman has a B.S. degree from Central Michigan University and a M.S. from California Baptist University.  She is certified in the state of Georgia.  She has a cross cultural and academic language certification.  She has been a credentialed classroom teacher for 16 years.  She was the Gifted and Talented Education Coordinator for 3 years, administering assessments.  Mrs. Bowman spent 16 years as a participating member on IEP teams and 16 years diagnosing reading difficulties and developing reading interventions.  She offers tutoring in reading.

 

She will be doing IEP reading and K4-8th grade Spanish.  She will be the ASP Asst. Director for the 2019-’20 school year.

 

 

Soyoung Park

6-8 Math - Music

Mrs. Park received her BA and MA from Keimyung University.  She has taught 10 years in the classroom.  She will be teaching MS math.  She will also be teaching in the music program.  She is very strong as a teacher and has taught many levels in math and she is strong in conducting, arranging music and is a highly accomplished piano teacher.

She has a daughter who is attending FCS in 11th grade.

 

Kwabena Asenso-Okyere

Family Living/Bible

Mr. Kwabena Asenso-Okyere serves as an ordained minister at “All Nations Church” in Loganville, GA.  He attended college at Iowa State University and graduated with a degree in Management  and he received an executive MBA from Kennesaw State University in addition to several professional certifications.

He is passionate about global mission work and he has a nonprofit organization that is headquartered in Cumming, Georgia. Oak Manna Charity operates in developing countries serving disadvantaged youth through Learning, Evangelism & Development (LED Clubs) programs.  He will be teaching Family Living and Bible.

They have 4 children Nshira, Akoma, Papa Yaw, and KK.  They are excited to be part of the FCS family.”

Andy Hoeweler

PE Director/Bible/Athletics

Mr. Hoeweler will be working with the Athletic Director and he is the PE Director.

He received his Bachelor of Arts in business administration and Biblical studies from Toccoa Falls College. Over the years, he has worked in various leadership positions in ministry.

Debbie Porter

Pre-School

Mrs. Porter has been teaching preschool for 10 years, and teaching at FCS for the past five. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Ohio State University. She and her husband have four daughters and they attend Browns Bridge Community Church.

Kelli Arnold

2nd Grade

Mrs. Arnold is our second grade teacher.  She has her BA degree in elementary education from the University of Michigan.  She worked at FCS 4 years and is returning this year.  She has over 10 years experience and is certified with ACSI and she has her state certification.

Galina Rubets

K4 Para-Pro

Mrs. Rubets is a K-4 Para-Pro.  She has two children that attend FCS in 2nd and 12th grade. She is a member of New Life Church.

Hannah Foster

Front Desk/US Teacher/I-20 Housing

Miss Foster has a degree in Leadership and Church Ministry and has worked in a classroom six years as a lead teacher.  She has been involved in missions and has a true passion for evangelism and building a strong foundation in the Lord.  She worked in South Korea the summer of 2019 with a local Korean school teaching English.

She teaches an upper school Bible class, front desk, home economics and directs our “I-20 Housing Program”.

Emily Cortese

ASP 1

Miss Cortese has worked in education several years.  She has her BA degree from Emmanuel College in education.

She teaches our ASP 1 (6th & 7th self- core contained class).  She has also mentored MS girls in her church and has worked in mission trips.  She is currently a small groups leader in her church.

She will also be the Asst. Coach for FCS volleyball.

 

Jordan Farley

4th Grade

Mr. Farley is a graduate from Cedarville University with a BA degree in Education.  He has a Pre-K through 5th grade teaching endorsement.  He has a strong relationship with the Lord and is active in his church. He brings a passion for learning and a vision for excellence in the classroom.

Mr. Dragu directs our technology program at FCS.

Harold Jordan

Lower School Athletics

Coach Jordan directs lower school athletics at FCS.  We currently offer winter basketball for grades 3rd-6th. We will start flag football for grades 3rd-6th in the fall of 2019.

His son graduated from FCS in 2017 and attends Lee University.  His daughter is a junior at FCS.

Nadia Shevchenko

Art K4-6th

Ms. Shevchenko has a MA degree in art education from Marywood University and a BA degree in fine arts from State University of New York.

She will be teaching art for grades K4-6th.  She has taught art in the classroom and is an accomplished artist.  She is very active in New Life Church serving in different areas.

Kimberly Chapman

HS English/English Chair

Mrs. Chapman is our 9th-12th English teacher.  She graduated from Georgia State University and Spelman University; she has her BA in English and her MA in English Education.  She has her state certification for grades 6th-12th in English, AP Literature, AP Language and Gifted.  She is also certified through ACSI in Secondary English.  She has taught as a lead teacher for 13 years and has 2 children that attend FCS.

Vasily Lantukh

Board Chairman/Sr. Pastor at New Life Church

As CEO/Board Chairman of Friendship Christian School, Rev. Vasily Lantukh is a talented motivator and organizer. He holds a masters degree in agriscience and has a track record of successful leadership as a minister, entrepreneur, international businessman and family man.

His strong personal commitment to education has most recently displayed itself in his own six children. Three earned undergraduate degrees from Georgia Tech, the other three from Georgia State University. Three of his children have completed their masters level education and are greatly excelling in their fields of work and study. His youngest son graduated as the valedictorian of FCS in 2011.

Mr. Lantukh recently celebrated his 27th year as Pastor of New Life Christian Church. When he’s not at school or church, he enjoys gardening with his wife, Marya, and tackling a growing list of home improvement challenges.

He fully supports the Head of School to run the daily operations at FCS.

Rick Johnson

Head of School/ASP & SB10 Supervisor/Athletic Director

Dr. Johnson holds a EduD in Christian Education from JTS and a PhD in Psychology from Southern Seminary. He has a Master’s of Arts in Education in Administrative Instruction from Ottawa University. He holds three Certifications with ACSI: All Levels Superintendent, All Levels Principal and Secondary Bible. He has worked in Christian Education 29 years.  He has served as Head of School for FCS the past 6 years. He is also the Athletic Director; he has served as a Director in Athletics in the past for 11 years.

He has served in the ministry of Christian education as a Head of School, Dean, Chaplain, Head Coach, Athletic Director, Counselor, Resource Director, Mission Director, lower school teacher and secondary teacher.

Dr. Johnson has worked with “Voice of Judah” music ministry for 37 years and currently serves on their board as vice president. He has also worked for several accreditation teams with ACSI and SCISA. He co-founded Building Blocks Educational Ministries with his wife and ministers to teachers, churches, and organizations. As a missions director, Dr. Johnson has led missions teams to Belize, Colombia, Mexico and Israel. Dr. Johnson has been a strong supporter of an orphanage in Belize in Central America for several years.

Dr. Johnson and his wife have three children: a son who is 30, his oldest daughter graduated from FCS in 2018 and his youngest daughter is a senior at FCS.  He and his wife have a grand daughter that is 4 years old who attends FCS pre-school, a grand son who is 2 years old and a grand daughter who was born April 2019.

Dr. Johnson has a global vision spiritually and academically for the ministry long-term.

Elizabeth Johnson

Upper School Principal / I-20 Director/Admissions

Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson works as the US Principal, Admissions Director and I-20 Director. She holds a Master’s of Arts in Education with a major in Administrative Instruction and Curriculum from Ottawa University. She has a BA in Christian Education with a major in Theology from JTS, and a BA in Education with a major in English from Ottowa University.

Elizabeth Johnson has been in Christian education 27 years. She has worked as an Administrative Assistant, Facility Director, Development Director, middle and high school English and Bible teacher. She has also served on a curriculum planning school building team.  She has been the FCS I-20 Director 6 years.

She holds her certificate to direct the 1-20 program (SEVIS) for international students for FCS. She holds three standard certifications from ACSI: Secondary Principal, Secondary English, and Secondary Bible. She also holds a private pre-school teaching certification.

She is also the co-founder of Building Blocks Educational Ministries and has ministered to teachers, schools and churches.

Mrs. Johnson and her husband have three children: a son who is 30, a daughter who graduated from FCS in 2018 and a daughter who is a senior at FCS.  She also has a grand daughter 4 years old that attends our pre-school, a grand son who is 2 years old, and a grand daughter born April 2019.

Clayton Shaw

Lower School Principal/Admissions/Testing Coordinator

Mr. Shaw is our lower school principal.  He also works in our admissions office and directs testing at FCS.

He received his degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia College & State University and his Masters in Instructional Technology from the University of Georgia. Mr. Shaw is state and ACSI certified, and is very strong in technology education at all levels.  He worked in South Korea the summer of 2019 with a local Korean school teaching English.

Before becoming principal, Mr. Shaw taught fourth grade for 10 years and has been at FCS since 2010.  He and his wife have a daughter; born December 2017.

Mr. Shaw also serves as the golf coach at FCS and his team are the current GCAA state champions.

Serge Kulinich

Facility Director

Mr. Kulinich directs the facilities for the entire campus. This non-academic department encourages excellence in the cleaning crew, technology, school store and scholarship department for New Life Church.

Becky Holmes

Pre-School Director

Mrs. Holmes is the Preschool Director for Friendship Christian School. She received her bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Louisville and her master’s degree in Teaching from Spalding University. Mrs. Holmes has been an educator for over 20 years and has worked as both a preschool and elementary classroom teacher. She has a passion for early childhood education and has served as a preschool director for 12 years.

Becky has been a part of the team at FCS for eight years.

Nadia Wasson

Accounting Manager

Mrs. Wasson is the Accounting Manager with FCS and New Life Church.

Alla Rudishina

Finance Director-FCS

Mrs. Rudishina is the Finance Director for FCS. She has worked in finance for several years in a variety of areas. She has two children that attend FCS. She and her family are very active in New Life Church.

Olga Markova

Pre School

Mrs. Markova works as an aide in preschool and she is our aftercare teacher for grades K-5 from 3:30-6 p.m.

She has three children at FCS and her husband is a pastor.

Jay Jusino

HS Science-Science Chair/Staff Development

Mr. Jusino is the HS Science teacher and Science Chair K-12, Educational Development Director, and Curriculum Director. He received his Bachelor of Science in Applied Biology from Ferris University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology Education from Ferris University.

He has over 20 years experience in classroom instruction and has taught Biology, Chemistry, Physics, General Science, Introduction to Logic, Health, Environment Science, Origins in Science in Culture, Nutrition, Anatomy, Physiology and Business Math. He also has his ACSI Science Educator Certification.

He has taught “Education from a Biblical Worldview” from the Nehemiah Institute to staff and has nearly three years experience in Environment Field Work.

Mr. Jusino has seven children; he has been at FCS 6 years.

Olga Busumatrava

Pre-School

Mrs. Olga teaches in the two year old classroom.

Jan Brown

3rd Grade

Mrs. Brown is our third grade teacher at FCS. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Auburn University in Elementary Education and minored in Creative Arts.

She has been a home-school teacher for years for her six children and also taught several years in the classroom. She has worked with curriculum and several academic leadership roles over the years as a teacher.

Bunny Helms

First Grade

Mrs. Helms received her Bachelor of Science from Columbia International University. She also attended Cal. State Fullerton.

Mrs. Helms has taught in elementary education as a lead teacher 15 years. She has worked with students with reading and is our 1st grade teacher at FCS. She is strong in all core subjects and she is very creative in the classroom.

Dusty Dobbs

MS History/English

Mr. Dobbs is our MS History teacher for 6th-8th grades, and ASP English.  He will also teach one 9th grade English class.

He received a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Education at Wayland Baptist University and his Masters of Religious Education from Southwestern Seminary. He has over 20 years of experience in teaching and Resource. He is certified as an instructor with the state of Georgia. He has also tutored in writing and reading.

He is married with three children and is very active in his church. His daughter attends FCS.

Svetlana Bogdan

Russian 3rd-12th Instructor

Mrs. Bogdan is our Russian instructor and has experience at all levels in teaching language. She has her master’s degree in languages and is strong in both Russian and German. She teaches 3rd-12th grade students and has great classroom management in education learning at different styles and levels. Mrs. Bogdan has taught 6 years at FCS and she has two children at FCS.

Jeremiah Klinect

Academic Skills Program Director & Teacher in ASP 2

Mr. Klinect teaches in our Academic Skills Program 2. He is certified in Reading and directs the IEP and Academic Skills Program.

He received a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education with a reading endorsement from Toccoa Falls College. He is state certified through the 8th grade and has taught in the public school system. He has also completed the Orton Gillingham program.

 

Jonathan Kilgore

Chaplain/Fine Arts Director

Jonathan Kilgore received his BA from Point University in Human Relations.  He is currently working on his MA at Lee University.

He is the FCS Chaplain and Fine Arts Director. He directs the band, leads upper school chapel, campus pastor and directs the Christmas program each year. He also directs our School of Music; which coordinates after-school lessons with instructors.

He has been married for 24 years and has three children. His oldest daughter graduated from FCS in 2015 as valedictorian of her class.

Mr. Kilgore is a professional musician and has been in full-time music ministry for 16 years, traveling across the nation and globe. He has worked in education for over 11 years. Through missions, he has traveled to several countries, including Mexico, Kenya and South Africa. He has a heart for young people and for developing musicians to use their gifts for the glory of God.

Jennifer Hollingshead

5th Grade

Mrs. Hollingshead has a master of arts in Elementary Education with a concentration in Reading from the State University of New York at New Paltz. She received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Nyack College. She has taught for over 20 years and is state and ACSI certified.

Jennifer is very active in her church.  She and her husband serve as Sunday School teachers, and she has served in youth activities, and as the Vacation Bible School Director.

Amy Bolinger

K4

Mrs. Bolinger is the K-4 teacher at FCS. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in early education from the Baptist College of America. She has a passion for teaching and a true love for children. Mrs. Bolinger is strong in all core subjects and her visual and hands on instruction has developed a strong K4 program that prepares all students for K5.

Debbie Kunin

6th-8th - MS English and Science

Mrs. Kunin teaches 6th-8th grade English and Science at FCS.

She is a graduate of Old Dominion University where she received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.She left her career with IHG to pursue a master’s degree and fulfill a lifelong dream of teaching children. She received her Master of Arts in Elementary Education and committed to helping children achieve lifelong learning through creative, engaging and dynamic learning.

Debbie is certified in Georgia to teach Elementary Education (K-5) and is eligible to teach Middle School Grades (6-8). She has over 10 years experience in the classroom and her focus is on our middle school department.

She has been married to her husband Gary for over 20 years and they have three daughters.  She enjoys photography and reading novels in her spare time.

Tatyana Lantukh

Academic Skills Program/Math

Ms. Lantukh will be teaching MS math and ASP math.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Georgia State University.

Ms. Lantukh has a vision for educating with excellence.

Kellie Kindberg

Librarian/Para-Pro

Mrs. Kindberg is a native of Atlanta and she attended Mercer College. She has been a Sunday School teacher and a substitute teacher at FCS.

Mrs. Kindberg has four children; her son is a senior this year at FCS. She also has three grandchildren.

Kate Crouse

Graphic Design-Yearbook 9th-12th/Art 7th-12th

Mrs. Crouse teaches art for grades 7th-12th, graphic design and yearbook club 9th-12th for FCS. She is a professional artist and holds a bachelor’s degree in art design.

She brings a strong vision and excitement to the art programs. The art students had several first place awards at the ACSI competition.

She has developed an art program that has allowed students to attend some of the top art schools in the country.

She has taught at FCS 5 years and has a daughter and a son at FCS.

Jon Johnson

Guidance Director/Virtual & AP Online Director/ESOL Director

Mr. Johnson has worked in Christian Education for six years. He manages our AP online classes, college dual enrollment, virtual classes, and ESOL program. He is the 9th-12th computer lab teacher and the Guidance Director for the high school. He helped raise 5.4 million dollars in scholarship offers for our 2018 senior class.

He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. He has a Master of Arts in International Affairs and Political Science from Arizona State University.  He received a Masters of Arts degree from the University of North Georgia in Psychology. He is currently enrolled at NYU working on his third Masters degree in Counseling Psychology. He is state certified in TESOL and directs the ESOL program at FCS.

Jon has been studying Mandarin Chinese for over 9 years. He has traveled across Asia multiple times since 2009. He and his wife lived in Beijing, China from April to December 2014. He returned to FCS in January 2015. His wife is from Tangshan, China. They have a daughter who is four years old in our FCS pre-school, a son who is two years old and a daughter born April 2, 2019.

Lauren Hoeweler

Language 2/ESOL

Mrs. Hoeweler graduated from Columbia International University with her Masters in TEFL/Intercultural Studies. She received her bachelor’s degree from Toccoa Falls College in English with a minor in Cross Cultural Studies. She has her ACSI certification in education and teaches the advanced language class and an after-school ESOL class. When she’s not teaching, Lauren enjoys soccer and tennis.

Maureen Brown

Pre-School

Mrs. Brown received her Masters of Science in Education from Long Island University in New York. She has worked several years in schools in New York and Illinois, and is working in our FCS pre-school.

Mrs. Brown is married with three children and loves volunteering in her children’s schools, Girl Scouts of America, and her community. She also enjoys playing tennis in her free time.

Kristina Riddle

Pre-School

Mrs. Kristina Riddle works in the preschool department as an instructor.

Stacey Nemitz

Pre-School

Mrs. Nemitz is a preschool teacher at FCS. She graduated from Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania with a degree in Elementary Education.

Prior to having children, she worked as the Assistant Director at Huntington Learning Center in Frederick, MD. Mrs. Nemitz has also taught Pre-K and Kindergarten in private childcare settings.

She is currently involved in the Children’s Ministry working with preschoolers at Christ Community Church in Cumming.

Pamela Rumer

Pre-School

Mrs. Rumer is a Pre-K teacher at FCS. Previously, she worked for Forsyth County in the Special Education department. She has taught Music for Mommy and Me, Creative Movement, and developed themed summer children’s camps for Duluth Parks and Recreation.

She received her Master of Fine Arts from the University of Michigan and her bachelor’s degree from William Smith College with a Certification in Elementary and Special Education.

Mrs. Rumer is married and has two daughters.

Cathy Sullivan

Pre-School

Mrs. Sullivan is a preschool teacher at FCS. She is a graduate of Villanova University in Pennsylvania.

Her and her husband have two children. She has been a regular volunteer in their elementary and middle schools throughout the years. She has also helped to organize children’s events in her neighborhood.

Cathy teaches religious education at her church. She has been the team manager for her daughter’s club travel soccer team.

Joshua Osolnik

HS History/History Chair

Mr. Osolnik is the HS History teacher at FCS.  He received a Bachelor of Arts in History from Emory University and a Master of Arts in Teaching in Secondary History from Emory Laney Graduate School.

He has taught at FCS for 6 years.

Kelly Pittman

Front Desk

Mrs. Pittman works at the front desk as secretary for administration and with the upper school principal.

Mrs. Pittman graduated from Eastern Kentucky with a BA in speech communication. She has worked several years as a customer service specialist, group director, data entry and event planning.

Mrs. Pittman has three children that attend FCS.

Ashley Wadibia

K5 & ESOL

Ms. Wadibia teaches K5 and ESOL at FCS. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of South Alabama and her master’s degree from Liberty University.

Ms. Wadibia has taught elementary grades in the public school system over 10 years.  She has been trained in several areas and is strong in reading with phonics and all core subjects. She was the teacher of the year in her county in Alabama.  She worked in South Korea the summer of 2019 with a local Korean school teaching English.

She is very active in church leadership and community service.

John Park

HS Math/Math Chair

Mr. Park is the high school math chair and HS math teacher at FCS.  He received one master’s degree from Florida Atlantic University and another master’s degree from Florida International University.  He received his Bachelor of Arts in Math and minor in Language from Western Michigan.  He is fluent in English, Korean and Japanese.

Mr. Park has directed many tutor companies that focus on developing math skills. He has worked with struggling students and helped them achieve high ACT and SAT scores.  He can teach all math classes including college level classes at any level.  He directs the math program for grades K-12 at FCS.
