Visual Arts

“But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand.” Isaiah 64:8

You already know how important it is for your child to have a well-rounded education.

At FCS, that includes a robust art curriculum that will not only engage your child, but also provide the opportunity to explore the creativity and innate talents that God has given them. That’s why we’ve developed a program that allows every child to explore the visual arts while also gaining a higher understanding of what it means to be an artist.

Elementary School Art

It’s never too early to encourage burgeoning artists, which is why our elementary students work on developing their motor skills through visual artistic media. Each art class allows students to explore which types of visual arts interest them the most. We are working together to lay an important foundation so students can continue to engage with their artistic potential in the years to come.

Middle School Art

Our middle schoolers take their artistic endeavors a few steps further. These students focus on learning different techniques and reinforcing the knowledge they received in the earlier stages. Through our weekly art elective, middle schoolers are able to work on assignments that are tailored to each student’s skill and comfort level.

High School Art

Our oldest students are now artists in their own right, and they attend an art class every day if art is their chosen elective. Thanks to the increased number of hours dedicated to their artwork, students are able to achieve a high level of skill and confidence in every piece they create. We also devote classroom time to color theory, color creation, art history, elements of art, and principles of design to ensure that every student leaves FCS with both a love for art and an appreciation of every facet of the artistic process.
